Questions, answered
Do I need special hardware or a card reader?
No. VallaPOS runs on the phone, tablet, or computer you already own. Cash and QR payments work out of the box. If you want to print receipts or pop a cash drawer, we support common Epson and Star thermal printers — but nothing is required to start.
Does it really work without internet?
Yes. The Cloud edition keeps working during outages and syncs when you're back online. The Offline desktop edition never needs a connection at all — every sale and report lives on your machine.
What's the difference between Cloud and Offline?
Cloud is a monthly subscription that syncs across devices and staff, with backups and live reports in the cloud. Offline is a one-time $99 desktop app that's cash-only, 100% local, and needs no account. Many owners start on Cloud and add Offline for a fixed second station.
Do you take a percentage of my sales?
Never. You pay a flat subscription or a one-time price — we don't skim your revenue. When card payments launch, they're processed by Stripe at Stripe's standard rates, paid directly to you as the merchant.
Can my whole team use one device?
Absolutely. Add each worker with a PIN, and they unlock the register to ring up sales. Every order is attributed to whoever rang it, and sensitive actions like refunds require a manager PIN.
Where is my business data stored?
In the Cloud edition, your data is securely hosted in the United States and isolated per business. In the Offline edition, it's stored only on your own device — it never touches our servers. See our Privacy Statement for details.
